Facebook users will have seen many pictures of the re-planking work that took place in September at Goodchild Marine at Burgh Castle.
While that work was going on, volunteers from the WMT membership worked hard. They painted those parts of the wherry that cannot be reached when she is afloat, as well as painting the rigging and other parts of Maud. Maud’s hold had to be emptied so all the ballast had to be removed and put back after the work had been completed. A quick calculation shows that 21 members (including trustees) worked for an estimated 68 person/days. This demonstrates the loyalty of our membership.
