On Sunday 2nd June Wherry Maud Trust held a party in Upton Village Hall to celebrate Maud’s 125th year.

It was unfortunate that Maud herself could not be moored at Upton staithe as had been planned because there was no space for her. Instead, on arrival in the early afternoon, her skipper Neil Thomas moored her at the river end of the dyke.

Nearly 30 members came along to enjoy tasty pulled pork baps and celebration cakes.

Entertainment before and after eating was provided by Ludham Ukulele Band. They proved to be an excellent choice and received lots of applause. All those present would be happy to hear them play for us at another event in the future. As they do not charge a fee, we were able to present them with a donation for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
